1- Introduction About Autism:

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how people perceive the world and interact with others.

Autism is not an illness or disease and cannot be ‘cured’. All people on the autism spectrum learn and develop. With the right sort of support, all can be helped to live a more fulfilling life of their own choosing.

There are around 700,000 people in the UK living with autism – that’s more than 1 in 100. It appears to affect more men than women.

Autistic people often do not ‘look’ disabled.

A diagnosis is the formal identification of autism, usually by a multi-disciplinary diagnostic team.

The characteristics of autism vary from one person to another, but in order for a diagnosis to be made, a person will usually be assessed as having had persistent difficulties with social communication and social interaction and restricted and repetitive patterns of behaviours, activities or interests since early childhood, to the extent that these “limit and impair everyday functioning”.

Autistic people may find it hard to form friendships. Some may want to interact with other people and make friends, but may be unsure how to go about it.

The world can seem a very unpredictable and confusing place to autistic people.
The use of rules can also be important. It may be difficult for an autistic person to take a different approach to something once they have been taught the ‘right’ way to do it. People on the autism spectrum may not be comfortable with the idea of change, but may be able to cope better if they can prepare for changes in advance.

Many channel their interest into studying, paid work, volunteering, or other meaningful occupation. Autistic people often report that the pursuit of such interests is fundamental to their wellbeing and happiness. “The National Autistic Society”

2- Main Aspect “Idea of the project”:

– The project is a mixed project with both therapeutic and research dimensions.

– Its idea is to investigate the effect of multiple exposure of Autistic children to an environment with different types of animals in the same time and the ability of the child to choose the best bonding animal/animals which by default would be the best expected effect on the child.

– The family choices for the child to buy him/her a home pits would show some improvement but when the child chose himself/herself would show better results.

– There will be some kind of animals would not be a choice for family to accommodate at home and this will miss the chance for the family to find the best bonding animal for their child, which will be available through the project.

– Investigate the children interaction with each other when they choose the same animal or when two children appointed to take care of the same animal.

– We will convince the children that they are there to take care of rescued animals and they are Volunteers in GLF to take care of shelter animals, that would give them the feeling of responsibility which have its own effect to improve the case and facilitate the bonding between the children and the animals and in the same time the bonding between the children themselves.

– The animals will be brought from a shelters and will be rescued as well and an added benefit from the project.

– We will print T-Shirts for the children with “Volunteers” logos to give them the real feeling that they are not there to help themselves but to help the animals.

3- The Location:

– The location been donated already by Generous Malysian owners in the form of 22 acres of land with a lovely lake in the middle, massive football pitches “5 pitches” and a club in the middle.

– The owners offered the place for the use of the project for 5 years free of charge, which can be renewed upon mutual agreement with all facilities on ground to serve the project.

– The owners are happy to help with any new facility to build in case the project need some infrastructure would not be existed already on the land.

4- Targeted Beneficiaries:

– Autistic children.

– Rescue animals.

5- Animals

• The project will use a variety of animals which would have potential of bonding with the Autistic children.

• Horses, dogs, cats, lamb, goats, dukes, chickens, parrots, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, other animals.

6- Finance:

– The start-up cost will be through little donations from the sponsors considering there is no rent or infrastructure need to be paid for.

– The running costs will come from a business GLF will create to pay for the salaries of the employees “mainly will be directed by Volunteers to keep this running cost as minimal as possible”

– GLF will set up a new line for Organic Horse feed and herbal supplements for horse and the 25% of this business’ profit will be directed to support this charity project.

– GLF will create an organic herb shop – organic horse feed shop in place to supply the surrounding horse owners and stables with the horse feed needed and 100% of the income of this shop will pay for the running cost of the project.

– The sponsors do not have to donate any more money, just being a potential client for the organic horse feed new business will be enough while the 25% of the profit of this business will be directed to support the financial need of the project which would be enough to guarantee the survival of the project for the long term activities.
